Photo Challenge #10

A TV show you're currently addicted to...

Ok, so it's not a TV show.  And I'm really not addicted to it.  But I've put this post off for days trying to figure out what to do.  I don't watch a lot of TV of my own choosing.  If its up to me, the TV stays off.  Of all the shows on our DVR, Glee is the only one I actually make a point to watch...and I'm embarrassed to admit that.  I also couldn't figure out a photo (that I took myself) to represent Glee.  So I reinterpreted the rules...
Les Miserables is my all-time favorite musical.  I'm so sad that it's not on Broadway anymore, but this picture was from our trip to NYC in 2006.

Photo Challenge #9

A place you've visited...
I love to travel.  I've gotten to visit some really neat places.  By far, the most amazing, interesting, exhausting and challenging place I've been is Macchu Picchu...for many reasons.  Definitely one of those things I'm so glad I did, but seriously doubt I'll ever do again.

Something you dislike...

I dislike the misuse of the words your/you're.  I am by no means qualified to throw grammar stones, but I get so frustrated when people (especially teachers) use "your" instead of "you're".
This was a sign in Hometown back around Halloween. "If your feeling booey come get somethin gooey"  If my what is feeling booey?  What does "booey" even mean, anyway?  I guess as long as you make up your own words, no one can complain if you're misspelling them.
Sigh...such is life here in Hometown...

Something you ate today...
HannahKate went to Olive Garden a few weeks ago with some friends where she had Chicken & Gnocchi Soup.  She's been begging me every since to make some.  I found several versions of OG's recipe online, but I chose the one that looked like it contained the most "normal" ingredients.  I think it was written for a person who knew what they were doing.  The directions were terrible.  Fortunately, the soup was pretty good.

What do you do?  A representation of your day...

Tuesday is newsletter day at work.  It used to be my worst day.  Now, that distinction is reserved for Fridays.
Something is terribly wrong when Friday is the worst day of the week...

Photo Challenge #5

Your humble abode...

Not exactly sure of the point for this challenge, so I'm just going to post a picture of the Christmas tree in "my humble abode."  I only have one tree this year.  I used to have multiple--like 4 or 5, but it's not quite as much fun now that everyone else seems to be doing it, too.  That, and the fact that I'm getting lazy-er each year.  I no longer get caught up in the joy of decorating, because the dread of un-decorating discourages me.  Don't call me Scrooge yet, I still love Christmas time and we still have stockings and nativities and yard art.  I just didn't start decorating before Thanksgiving and drag out every last ball twinkle light this time.  Maybe next year...

Photo Challenge #4

What's in your bag...
A make-up pouch, my wallet, one earring, keys, gum, Leora's camera and some loose change...but also, the story of Alice Okello, the lady in Uganda that made the purse.  Check out Epoh bags for more information.
Great bags--I almost always get comments on it, great cause--helping women in need.

Something you bought today...
Hallie needed something "Christmas-y" for a program at church (technically we bought it yesterday, but this was the first chance she had to model for a pic).

Someone you adore--5 reasons why...

I adore BigJoel because...
   he makes me smile.
   he makes me feel safe.
   he has a servant's heart.
he is smart.  (He "knows things.")
   he loves the Lord.
   he is an amazing dad.
he is my best friend.  Ever.

Ok, so that was more than 5, but I couldn't help myself.  I just love that guy!

Photo Challenge #1

Well, HannahKate is doing another blog challenge and this time I'm going to play along. It is a photo challenge. I'm already a day behind, but its been a busy week. Hopefully, I can catch up this weekend.
Anyway, Day 1 is to post a self-portrait. Unlike the kids these days, I do not stand in front of every bathroom mirror and take pictures of myself. I don't like pictures of myself, so this was a difficult challenge. Hopefully the photo topics will get easier...
